Oxford- The land of bicycles and shrunken heads

So here we are, six months down and six to go! We can hardly believe it has been this long already! During the Christmas break (holy hell, that was 3 months ago already!) we donned our caps and gowns and headed for a day trip to Oxford. It was a bit of a miserable day, but Oxford still delighted. It seemed every time we turned a corner, there was a plaque telling us of some ancient scholar who invented the microscope or some such achievement!
Anyway here is the evidence:

We came over all scholarly while there and made a visit to the excellent Natural History Museum. They had an amazing collection of skeletons and rocks.
Including this stuffed Dodo:

In another massive room, that we almost missed, was an enormous collection of STUFF! Including a heap of shrunken heads.

This guy was a particular favourite:

Gorgeous innit!

Mum's Egyptian Adventure.

It's been a while, and for that, apologies. Our internet died and has yet to be fixed.

Anyway, around a month ago my dearest mother embarked on her own international adventure to Egypt. What follows is an uninformed series of photos from the great Egyptian plains. If your are a skeptic like myself, you'll scarcely believe your eyes! I have been told that no image tampering has occurred.

A large chap.

My Mum is actually British. Gasp! I hear you cry. Look, it is shocking but they are people like everyone else. After her trip to Egypt she came and visited us in london, which was great to see a family member on our year long trip away from those we love. We then took a day trip to Portchester, mums home town. Below is the house she lived in as a wee girl.
