Hungary to Romania

Things are great. Our tour group are great people.14 people in all, most of which are from Australia save for 2 kiwis, a yank and a Canadian. Two of the aussies are sisters ages 65 and 72 respectivly, they are great and keep upwith all the action. Our guide, Tardis (like doctor who) is 27 and incredibly world wise. He saved us Monday from angry Hungarian ticket inspectors cause we didn't validate our tickets on the tram. I guess some things are universal.
We've already seen hungary and are now in Romania. Budapest was an amazing city - a middle ground between East and West Europe. Romania is interesting because its post communism and it seems the whole country is under construction. Everyone is building their own 'Western' style mansion so the roads are lined with half finished garishly painted shells. They move in as soon as they have one room completed then build around that.
Last night the tour group all got drunk on home made Plum alcohol which you have to have in shots. It's a seering pain that stays with you! Then we got up today at 4 to travel 8 hours to the heartland of Romania. I felt unwell until around 3pm. We just saw the birth place of Vlad the Impala / Dracula which was cool.

We can't upload photos just yet, stay tuned for those.

Miss you all.
